Privacy Policy

Your nutrition history, weight history, profile and daily targets stay on your device. One thing leaves it, and only when you ask: the photo of a meal you choose to scan. It becomes an estimate and is not kept.

The short version

Your nutrition history, weight history, profile and daily targets stay on your device. We never upload them. One thing leaves your device, and only when you ask for it: the photo of a meal you choose to scan. It is turned into an estimate and not kept.

There is no account to create, no email address, no name and no social login. There is no advertising, no advertising identifier, no analytics SDK and no cross-app tracking, in any version of the app.

Who we are

Macromintly is published by the developer named on its App Store listing. For any privacy question, or to exercise a right described below, write to support@vynera.app. We answer from that address.

What stays on your device

All of the following is stored only on your iPhone or iPad. It is never uploaded, there is no iCloud sync and no CloudKit container, and Apple Health is neither read nor written.

Kept on the device
DataKept until
Profile: birth date, height, weight, biological sex, activity level, goal, daily calorie and macro targetsyou delete it, or delete the app
Weigh-ins: weight, date, optional noteyou delete the entry, or all local data
Meals: name, meal type, time, notes, calories, protein, carbohydrates, fat, fibre, sugar, sodium, per-food portionsyou delete the meal, or all local data
Optional meal thumbnail - off by default, saved only if you turn on “Save meal photo on this device”deleted automatically after 365 days, or when you delete the meal
App preferences: onboarding state, acknowledged disclaimers, local scan talliesyou delete all local data, or delete the app
Anonymous session token and user ID, held in the iOS Keychain, never synced to iCloudyou delete your account in Settings, or delete the app
Export files you generate yourself (PDF or CSV)cleared when you change export options or delete all local data

Everything the app computes from those rows - daily totals, streaks, the weight trend, the weekly review - is computed on your device and keeps working with the network off. Premium changes what the app shows you; it does not change where your data lives.

What leaves your device

The meal photo you choose to scan

Before the first upload the app tells you this, and lets you refuse:

Your meal photo is sent to Macromintly’s secure backend to estimate nutrition. It is processed in memory and not kept. You can decline and log the meal by hand instead.

Manual logging is free, unlimited and works offline forever. If you do scan, this happens:

  1. On your device the photo’s metadata is stripped and the image is resized and re-encoded. Location, timestamps and camera identifiers do not survive this step.
  2. The image, your language, your anonymous session token and a random request key are sent over HTTPS to our backend, hosted by Supabase in the US East region.
  3. The backend forwards the image to our AI gateway, which routes it to a vision model provider for the length of that one request.
  4. The backend returns only the nutrition estimate, an outcome, and how much of your quota is left.

The photo is held in memory for the duration of the request. We do not write the image, the food names, the nutrition values or the raw model response to any database. Please avoid putting faces, documents, addresses or screens in a meal photo.

Your anonymous identifier

On first launch the app creates an anonymous session: a random identifier and a token pair. No name, email address or password is involved. That identifier carries your server-side scan quota and your subscription entitlement.

Purchases

Purchases go through Apple’s StoreKit and nothing else. There is no third-party billing service, no billing SDK inside the app and no billing dashboard holding a copy of your purchase history. Apple sends our backend a signed notification when a subscription starts, renews, lapses or is refunded; it carries the plan, the transaction identifiers, the expiry date and the anonymous identifier above. Apple handles your payment - we never see a card number.

Exports, only when you ask

Export in Settings writes a PDF or CSV of your own history to a temporary file and hands it to the iOS share sheet. Where it goes from there is entirely your choice.

What our backend stores

Kept on the server
WhatRetention
Scan counters: anonymous ID, date, number of scans90 days
Scan reservations: anonymous ID, request key, outcome, whether it counted90 days
Subscription entitlement: anonymous ID, plan, expiry, Apple event metadatafor the life of the account - it is what proves an active subscription

No meal photo, food name or nutrition value is stored on our servers. There is no table for it. Operational logs hold a random request ID, timing, an outcome class and the app version - never images, prompts, food names, nutrition values, profile details or weigh-ins.

Photo analysis and Premium

Photo analysis is free for three scans a month, at most three in a day. Premium removes both limits, and each Premium plan includes a 3-day free trial. The backend meters the free allowance and verifies the entitlement before it calls the AI provider. Manual logging remains available offline.

Your choices and your rights

Both actions below are in Settings → Your data.

  • Delete all local data erases every meal, weigh-in, food, saved thumbnail, preference and export file on the device. It does not sign you out and does not touch the server.
  • Delete my account removes your reservation and entitlement rows from our backend and requests deletion of the anonymous user. Only once the server confirms does the app erase local data and delete the Keychain session. If the call fails, nothing is lost and you can retry.

Deleting your account does not cancel an App Store subscription. Cancel in Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions.

Because we hold no name, email address or account, a request to access, correct, port or erase data is served by the in-app actions above - they act on the same rows we would otherwise act on for you. If you need something those buttons cannot do, write to support@vynera.app and we will answer within 30 days.

Children

Macromintly is not directed at children and is not marketed to minors. Its daily targets are a general wellness estimate, never a prescription.

Not medical advice

Macromintly is for general wellness and personal tracking only. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition. Figures obtained from a photo are estimates and can be inaccurate. Consult a qualified healthcare professional before changing your diet, medication or treatment.

Changes to this policy

If we change what leaves your device or how long anything is kept, we update this page and its date, and the app asks you to acknowledge the change before the next scan.
